$10,000 Rescue for a Cell Phone

A woman calls for help. She sounds like she is going down the river. Yo call 911 for help. 30 rescueers and $10,000 later, we all find out she called out for help because her cell phone fell into the river. No word yet if her phone was ever found.

Garden City Police say the resulting search on Tuesday on what turned out to be a false alarm drew 30 rescue workers and cost about $10,000. Police say two people reported hearing a woman call for help near by fast-flowing Boise River near Les Boise Park, and that one said it sounded like the voice was moving as if being swept downstream. Rescuers on land and on jet skis searched for more than an hour but couldn’t find anyone in the river.
